چکیده

IntroductionIn advanced epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), longer time-interval from surgery to initiation of adjuvant chemotherapy (TITC) is associated with decreased survival. Adding upper abdominal surgical procedures (UAP) increases rates both complete gross resection and postoperative complications in EOC. Our objective was investigate the association UAP TITC. Moreover, if specific monitoring after most prevalent early detection management complications.Material methodsWomen diagnosed EOC 2014–2016 Stockholm/Gotland Region Sweden were identified Swedish Quality Registry for Gynaecologic Cancer. The between TITC investigated by multivariable linear regression adjusted predefined confounders. follow-up diaphragm resection, splenectomy cholecystectomy examined.Results240 women selected analysis. subjected similar a median 30 days (p = 0.99). despite higher rate major < 0.001) hospital stay 0.001), analysis there no prolonged TITC, mean difference ?2.27 (95% Confidence Interval (CI), ?5.99 ?1.45, p 0.23). Clinical non-specific surveillance sufficient detect UAP.

Postoperative spirometry after laparoscopy for lower abdominal or upper abdominal surgical procedures.

In this prospective study, we have compared women undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic gynaecological surgery and laparoscopic minor gynaecological procedures (diagnostic, tubal, ligation) (n = 10 in each group) to determine if lower abdominal laparoscopy results in less postoperative pulmonary dysfunction than upper abdominal laparoscopy. Pulmonary testing was performed before...

Platinum-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy and interval surgical cytoreduction for advanced ovarian cancer: a meta-analysis.

OBJECTIVE To determine the overall survival and relative effect of multiple prognostic variables in cohorts of patients with advanced-stage ovarian cancer treated with platinum-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy in lieu of primary cytoreductive surgery. METHODS Twenty-two cohorts of patients with Stage III and IV ovarian cancer (835 patients) were identified from articles in MEDLINE (1989-2005). ...

Impact of neoadjuvant chemotherapy and postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy cycles on survival of patients with advanced-stage ovarian cancer

BACKGROUND There is currently no consensus regarding the optimal number of chemotherapy cycles to be administered before and after interval debulking surgery (IDS) in patients with advanced ovarian cancer. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of the number of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) and postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy (POAC) cycles on the survival of patients with advanced ovarian...

Weekly induction intraperitoneal chemotherapy after primary surgical cytoreduction in patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer

BACKGROUND Traditional intraperitoneal (IP) therapy administered simultaneously with intravenous (IV) chemotherapy in the primary setting has been well documented. This retrospective study was conducted to investigate the role of weekly IP therapy as an inducing intervention before front-line IV chemotherapy, particularly in patients with bulky residual disease after surgery. METHODS A total ...

Chemotherapy of advanced ovarian cancer.

Majority of ovarian cancer patients have advanced disease (stage III or IV) at diagnosis and the prognosis of these patients is poor in spite of aggressive surgery. Therefore chemotherapy has gained a fundamental role in the therapeutic approach of ovarian cancer. Platinum compounds in combination with alkylating agents and taxoids have the higher antitumor activity in ovarian cancer, while the...
